Abstract
A mixed sampling plan has been proposed based upon attribute and variable sampling plan using the EWMA statistic. In developing this plan, the idea of operating characteristic has been used. The developed plan is based upon the normal distribution. Using the available technique of two points, acceptable quality level and the limiting quality levels satisfying the producer's risk and the consumer's risks on operating characteristic curve, the parameters of the proposed plan are estimated. Two situations of known and unknown standard deviation have been considered. The comparison with the existing parallel plan has been studied which shows the comparatively better efficiency of the proposed plan in terms of sample size.
