Abstract
This paper reports the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of La0.6Sr0.4Mn0.9V0.1O3 polycrystalline manganite elaborated using the solid-state reaction method. The X-ray powder diffraction shows that the prepared compound has a single phase. Magnetocaloric effect is calculated from the measurement of initial isothermal magnetization versus magnetic field at various temperatures. The enhanced relative cooling power (RCP) and values show that this sample has potentials for future technological application. Moreover, we have studied the universal behavior used as a further criterion to distinguish the order of the phase transition in La0.6Sr0.4Mn0.9V0.1O3.
