Abstract
Transformation of [HCo(CO)(PMe
3)
3] in tetrahydrofuran under argon at 90°C yields a solid cobalt–hydrido cluster [H
3(Co(CO)(PMe
3)
2)
3]. The magnetic susceptibility down to 3.8 K confirms an antiferromagnetic coupling within the Co
3 ring and the Co–H interaction is of the antiferromagnetic nature as well:
J
Co–Co=−192.4 cm
−1,
J
H–Co=−570.0 cm
−1, and
g
Co=2.402.
