Abstract
The study of the population density of major groups of the ant fauna was conducted in 3 different habitats, which include, natural, vegetable and date palm habitats in Western Saudi Arabia. Different densities were obtained in all habitats, and the species of ant fauna have from 2 to 5 generations throughout the season with a long period of activity started from October to May. The ant Camponotus maculatus, was found to be dominant in the 3 habitats. A Chi-square ( chi super(2)) test showed that there were highly significant differences between the numbers of each species recovered in the 3 habitats.
