Abstract
A heterogeneous one-dimensional model for the high-temperature shift converter (HTS) is developed taking into consideration interphase as well as intraparticle mass and heat transfer resistances for the catalyst pellet. The model performance is checked against four industrial reactors, one in Egypt and three in Saudi Arabia. The model is used in an application program with the necessary data base for the physico-chemical parameters. The program is equipped with user friendly input screens with the output obtained as tables and graphs.
