Abstract
The formation constants of N-(2,3-dimethyl-1-pheny1-5-oxo-3-pyrazoline-4-yl)-N′-benzoylthiourea with 3d transition metal ions [Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Mn(II)] have been determined in 70% ethanol-water medium. The effect of metal ion, ionic radius and electronegativity on the formation constants are discussed. The formation constants follow the order Mn<NiZn. A cobalt complex has been isolated and characterized by conductance, IR and magnetic moment. The ligand forms tris-complex of octahedral arrangement and has the general formula CoL
