Abstract
Since the introduction of GERT, many papers have been published to show its application in the field of industrial engineering and management. However, only a few applications in the field of education have been shown. Moreover, the development of a PC computer package is almost non-existent, In this paper, GERT is used to derive the mean time spent by a student in the high-school education system in Saudi Arabia and the probability of his graduation. A computer package is developed on a PC to solve these problems for networks having up to 20 nodes. 30 paths and fifth-order loops. These limits can be further expanded by increasing memory space. An example illustrating the application of this package is presented. A brief description of basic network algebra for Exclusive-OR nodes is also given to facilitate the understanding of GERT analysis.
