Sharps related injuries, including needle stick injuries expose health professionals to blood borne pathogens like Hepatitis B virus (HBV), Hepatitis C virus (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). This article focuses on needle stick injuries in dentistry, to determine which of these injuries are most common, assembled precautions and tips from other dentists to prevent needle stick injuries based on previous published literature.
