Abstract
We introduce a novel method to actualize the adapter for nanofocusing of single-mode fiber to photonic crystal. The nanofocusing of 250 nm from the 9 µm fiber source is achieved. The staircase structure of 2 µm × 0.5 µm size is used to achieve this nanofocusing. We used 10 symmetric staircase slits of each size to achieve a tapered staircase structure. The overall design structure is 15 µm × 25 µm. This article also demonstrates the mathematical modelling of the nanofocusing structure. The results of mathematical modelling are compared with simulation results. The results clearly show the formation of a nanofocusing beam using a symmetric staircase grating structure with the same propagation mode. The designed nanofocusing adapter is applicable in medical spectroscopy, photonics crystal source, optical logic gate, etc.
