An aqueous binder of polyurethane acrylate has been prepared from isophoron diisocyanate, polyethylene glycol 6000 and hydroxy ethyl acrylate using dibutyl tin dilaurate as a catalyst. The results show that the binder can be used safely with TiO2 nanoparticles in preparing either ink for pigment dyeing or printing pastes for coloration of silk fabrics and that the binder improves the UV-protection, anti-bacterial and wrinkle resistance properties of silk fabrics.
