The isovector fields of the Einstein vacuum equations for stationary axially symmetric rotating fields, in the general form, are derived using the geometric prolongation technique. More specifically, this technique yields invariant transformations that reduce the given system of partial differential equations (PDEs) to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Some symmetry transformations and new exact solutions of the Einstein vacuum equations are obtained.
