Abstract
Three species of Helvella were collected from Jiuzhaigou Natural Reserve, southwestern China. Helvella maculatoides sp. nov. is described and illustrated from specimens collected on moss. Helvella subglabra and H. ulvinenii are recorded for the first time from China. Our new collections were confirmed to be divergent from other species of Helvella based on morphological examination and molecular phylogenetic analyses of ITS and 28S sequence data. Descriptions and figures are provided for the taxa which are compared with allied taxa.
•One new species of Helvella is described and illustrated.•Helvella maculatoides shows closest relationship with Helvella maculata.•Helvella subglabra and H. ulvinenii are recorded for the first time from China.•We show the result by molecular phylogenetic analysis of the China material.
