Abstract
The investigation of the interaction between the wall driven fluid stream and the partially heated barriers is a filed of great interest for the researchers. The present analysis aims to evaluate free and forced convection in a corrugated-wall parallelogram cavity. A Heated source is located at the bottom of enclosure and the upper boundary maintained the mixed convection in the enclosure. Flow dynamics and thermal profiles are established with regard to magnetic field. The non-linear partial differential equation obtained from the mathematical interpretation of such complex physical system are solved numerically using finite element method. The outcomes of the simulation towards flow controlling parameters (Richardsonnumber0<Ri≤100,Hartmannnumber0≤Ha≤100,amplitude0.02≤Am≤1.00,magneticfieldinclination0≤φ≤π2) are presented in line graphs and contour maps. It is observed that forced convection dominates at low value of Richardson number and free convection dominates at larger values of Richardson number. Further, the results indicate that increasing wall undulation Am the velocity profile enhances the Nusselt number also possess higher values at maximum Am. It is also reported that heat the transfer rate has maximum behavior at large Ha and φ=π2.
