A theoretical study on the boundary layer flow of nanofluid past a bi-directional exponentially stretching sheet is presented. Heat transfer analysis via convective boundary conditions is performed. Further, the recently proposed boundary condition by Kuznetsov and Nield (Int. J. Therm. Sci.

, 126 (2014)) is considered, which requires nanoparticle volume fraction at the wall to be passively rather than actively controlled. The resultant boundary layer equations are non-dimensionalized and then solved for the numerical solutions. The results are found in excellent agreement with the existing studies in the literature. It is seen that the thermal boundary layer is largely influenced by the variations in the convective heating at the sheet. Moreover the nanoparticle volume fraction is found to be in the vicinity of the bounding surface.
