Abstract
Samples of straight-run gas oil were treated at different operating conditions of pressure, temperature, and liquid hour space velocity in a hydrodewaxing experimental unit in order to determine the optimal conditions for the production of premium diesel fuel. The properties of the diesel fuel considered were those related to its cold temperature performance including its cloud point, pour point and cold filter plugging point. It was found that the treatment of gas oil at appropriate conditions of temperature, pressure, and space velocity can lead to a significant improvement in the cold behavior of the fuel.
