Abstract
Development and validation of an analytical spectral calibration method to quantify buclizine hydrochloride, which is a piperazine derivative and used as a single active principle in pharmaceutical forms were done. The quantification of buclizine hydrochloride was performed in the wavelength range of 218-226 nm at N = 6. The linear regression equation has been constructed using relationship between concentration and absorbance at 218, 220, 222, 224, and 226 nm. The developed method was applied directly and easily to the analysis of the pharmaceutical tablet preparations. Mean %RSD was found to be 0.6231% (Longifene(A (R)) tablet 25 mg). The method was completely validated and proven to be rugged. This validated UV spectrophotometric method is potentially useful for a routine laboratory analysis because of its simplicity, rapidity, sensitivity, precision, and accuracy.
