Abstract
The technique of synthesis of 2,3,5-trimethyl-1,4-benzoquinon via catalytic oxidation of 2,3,6-trimethylphenol in H
2
O
2
—H
2
O—PhCH
3
system with vibrational stirring is developed. Xerogels TiO
2
and TiO
2
—SiO
2
were used as catalysts in the process. The effect of physicochemical properties of xerogels on the course and characteristics of oxidation is studied.
