Abstract
Aniline, p-toluidine and p-chloroaniline have been oxidized by manganese ferrocyanide. Red brown coloured products are deposited on manganese ferrocyanide surface. The reaction was appreciable in basic medium. Oxidation products have been characterized by GC-MS and IR studies. Product of aniline has been identified as tetramer while p-toluene and p-chloroaniline have been oxidized to their trimer and dimer, respectively.
