Abstract
A simple, accurate and rapid PMR method for the determination of methoxamine HCl has been developed. The relative standard deviations or coefficient of variation CV are +/- 1.22% and 1.42% for the pure drug and injections, respectively. The results for authentic sample and injections are comparable to those obtained using the official B.P. 1988 method where relative standard deviation is 0.85%. There was no evidence of interference from the excipients. In addition, the PMR spectrum furnishes a specific mean of identification of methoxamine.
