Abstract
Synthesized copper nanoparticles were deposed on cotton by using Arabic gum. Several analysis methods were used to detect the presence and to characterize the produced nanoparticles. Analyses results shown that the Cu2O nanoparticles were distributed above the entire surface of the textile fiber. The discharge of nanoparticles in the washing bath was characterized by atomic absorption, and results confirmed the equitable durability of the treated cellulose. A study on mechanical properties of the cotton@nanoCu(2)O composite was developed and revealed that treated cotton preserves interesting physical properties. The antibacterial effects of cotton@nanoCu(2)O composite have been tested, and was in overall excellent.
