Abstract
In this work, we consider a one-dimensional problem of distribution of thermal stresses and temperature in a generalized thermoelastic half-space subjected to sudden heating with constant temperature on the bounding plane under the action of a body force. The Laplace transform technique is used to solve the problem. The inverse transforms are obtained in an approximate manner using asymptotic expansions valid for short times. The temperature, displacement, and stress are obtained and represented graphically.
