Abstract
Benign fibrous histiocytoma is a rare tumor of mesenchymal origin, and its occurrence in the head and neck is infrequently encountered. Most of the reported cases in the laryngeal region in the literature are of malignant nature, and mainly in adults. Fibrous histiocytoma can occur anywhere in the body. Fibrous histiocytoma represented 0.5% of all benign neoplasms of the larynx. A subglottic benign fibrous histiocytoma in a 5 year-old girl who underwent a single stage partial cricotracheal resection as a primary management. Up to our knowledge, this is the first report of such surgical management in this kind of tumors.
