Abstract
The level structure of Pb-208 has been investigated with the (n,n'gamma) reaction with accelerator-produced neutrons. From gamma -ray excitation function measurements and gamma-gamma coincidences, the decay scheme was established. Level properties were elucidated with lifetimes determined by the Doppler-shift attenuation method and multipole mixing ratios determinations from gamma -ray angular distributions. Several new levels below 6 MeV have been established, and many questionable placements have been confirmed or eliminated.
