Abstract

Chemistry Chemistry, Organic Physical Sciences Science & Technology
Penicillazine (1) is a new compound with both quinolone and 4H-5,6-dihydro-1,2-oxazine ring systems that was isolated from a culture of the marine fungus Penicillum sp. (strain #386). Its structure was elucidated using spectroscopic methods, primarily 2D NMR techniques, and was confirmed by an X-ray diffraction analysis. Variations in the H-1 NMR spectrum of penicillazine (1) were observed over a 65 degreesC tempcraturc range. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
