Abstract
The aim of this study is to assess the Saudi public perceptions and trends in the use of community pharmacy services in Saudi Arabia. A cross-sectional web based design was over a period of 3 months to collect the data, using valid and reliable questionnaires comprised of items on perceptions and trends in community pharmacy services. A total of 677 respondents completed the survey. About 57.6% (n = 389) agreed that pharmacist are expert to diagnose and provide treatment for minor ailments, while 315 (46.6%) of them agreed that pharmacists' have a good balance between health matters and making money. With regards to perceptions of waiting time most of them 444 (65.6%) indicated that it is short. The most common conditions to seek community pharmacy services were cold (63.6%), cough (59.2%), and Sore throats (50%). This study found that Saudi community had good perceptions towards services provided by community pharmacist in Medina.
