Abstract
Gel dosimeters have achieved unparalleled identity, in medical applications, particularly with the introduction of novel technologies that rely on both three-dimensional and high-spatial-resolution dose measurements. This is the reason beyond a strong request for an achievable and reliable 3D-dosimetry technique. Also, the existing Gel dosimetry systems meet the demand for its precision and high-resolution 3D dosimeters. Scientists are currently working on developing and enhancing many polymer gel dosimeters that have been recently launched in this regard. Nevertheless, it is important to analyze the other dosimetric features of the existing polymeric gel for clinical applications. This review aims at investigating the Gel dosimeters background as well as discussing their importance in the dosimetric system. Additionally, it provides information about the medical implementations of different polymer gel dosimeters.
