Abstract
The formation equilibria of the binary complex of zinc(II) with N-(2-acetamido)iminodiacetic acid (ADA) and for ternary complexes Zn(ADA)L, where L refers to some selected amino acids or DNA constituents were investigated. The formation constants of the binary and ternary complexes have been determined at 25.0 degrees C in 0.1 M NaNO3 solution. The relative stability of each ternary complex was compared with that of the corresponding binary complexes in terms of Delta logK values. The participation of different ligand functional groups in the complex formation was examined, The mode of chelation was ascertained by conductivity measurements.
