Abstract
Using power law potential as an effective potential, the fine structure of mass spectrum of Q[bar Q] and Q[bar q] system is examined. The authors find the masses of D[sup *] and D within 20 MeV of their experimental values. They predict the masses of D[sub J = 2, 1, 0] to be 2.47, 2.44, and 2.30 GeV and that of D[prime][sub J = 1], to be 2.36 GeV. For D[sub sJ = 2, 1, 0] and D[prime][sub sJ = 1], they obtain the values for their masses of 2.57, 2.55, 2.42, and 2.48 GeV. They also calculate [vert bar][psi][sub 1s](0)[vert bar][sup 2] for Q[bar Q] and Q[bar q] systems. They find f[sub D] = 220 MeV and f[sub B] = 143 MeV with the normalization that f[sub [pi]] = 93. 10 refs., 11 tabs.
