Abstract

An efficient method for the preparation of polymer-bound 1H-benzotriazole has been devised. The reaction of Merrifield resin with sodium 3-nitro-4-aminophenolate and the subsequent reduction and reaction with isoamyl nitrite afforded benzotriazole preloaded resin. A series of tertiary amines and a tosylamide were prepared using solid-phase benzotriazole-mediated transformations.
