Abstract
The proton spin-lattice relaxation times T sub(1) measurements over a temperature range 213-297 K in alpha -naphtol are reported. The results are analyzed in terms of the hydroxyl proton transfer between unequal potential energy wells. The energy difference Delta G = 2.37 kcal mole super(-1) and a subminimum energy H = 4.48 kcal mole super(-1) of an asymmetric double potential are determined.
