In this paper, we present results of a detailed numerical analysis of the transport dynamics of electrons passing through quantum dot potential barriers in nanowires. The Chebyshev-Fourier expansion of the propagation operator is employed in this study, which provides total transmission coefficients for four arbitrary potentials in two dimensions and cylindrical coordinates. The results are compared with those obtained by the standard R-matrix method, and found to be in good agreement.
