Abstract
Ternary tellurovanadate glass samples with composition of (90-x) TeO2-xV(2)O(5)-10Li(2)O (x= 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 mol%) were prepared using melt-quenching technique. The structure analysis was carried out using X-ray diffraction XRD and Raman spectroscopy. The density, molar volume, oxygen molar volume, and oxygen packing density were calculated. Vickers method was used to measure the microhardness. XRD patterns and FT-Raman confirm that there is no sharp peak and all samples have amorphous nature. The density and the oxygen molar volume (V-o) of the glassy testers decreases from 4.58 to 3.41 g.cm(3) and from 12.81 to 11.25 cm(3), respectively, with increasing the mole% of V2O5. In addition, the rigidity of the samples was reduced according to the microhardness measurements.
