The Editor-in-Chief has retracted this article based on the recent allegations from an anonymous source followed by preliminary inquiry by a research integrity panel showing the appearance of inconsistencies and manipulations in figures 2 & 3 that could affect the reliability of the work in the manuscript.
In Figure 2B, the Ribosomal Protein gel labeled HUT-102 (3 lanes) is cropped from the gel of figure 5 of the manuscript “Cancer Chemother Pharmacol. 2005 Apr;55(4):369–78. Epub 2004 Nov 5”. The three “lanes” in the gel in figure 2B are the same as the three rightmost lanes in the gel in figure 5 of the above mentioned manuscript.
Similarly, in figure 3B, the Ribosomal Protein gel labeled Jurkat (3 lanes) is cropped from the gel of figure 5 of the manuscript “Cancer Chemother Pharmacol. 2005 Apr;55(4):369–l78. Epub 2004 Nov 5”. The three “lanes” in the gel in figure 3B are the same as the three leftmost lanes in the gel in figure 5.
