Abstract
Muscular dystrophy is a neuromuscular disorder generally affecting children from 3 to 5 years of age. Among muscular dystrophy, Duchene muscular dystrophy is the highly prevalent one affecting) per 3500 globally and common in boys than girls. It is a progressive disease gradually decreasing the mobility, endurance, strength of the patient. Physical exercises play an important role in reducing progression of disease. Initiation of exercises in early childhood improves functional performance in children. Physical exercises improve muscle strength, aerobic fitness, endurance and health related quality of life in children with muscular dystrophy. The present review aims to find relevant evidence-based studies regarding role of physical exercises in managing children with muscular dystrophy.
