Abstract
The aim of the work is to radiolabel a piracetam using [Tc-99m = N](2+) core in order to give a (TcN)-Tc-99m-labeled piracetam complex, that is expected to concentrate in brain organ by AMPA receptors. The complex was prepared with high radiochemical purity (>98.0) and maintained stability throughout the working period (8 h) using different quality controls. Biodistribution investigation showed that, the maximum uptake of the complex in the brain was 13.5 +/- 0.12 % at 5 min post injection (p.i.) of the injected dose/g which retained till 2 h post-injection.
