Abstract
The paper presents a radiokinetic study on the nucleation and growth of some crystals in polyvinyl alcohol rnacromolecular gels (PVA 90-98 and PVA 120-98). Crystals appeared after the interaction of the radioactive cations Tl-204(+) with various anions: Cl-, Br, I-, SCN-, H4C4O62- and CrO42-, separately. Using the experimental data obtained, two kinetic parameters were calculated: global reaction rate constant and induction time for the nucleation process itself The values obtained lead to the conclusion that the process of nucleation and growth of these crystals depends not only on the nature and electrical charge of the anion, but also on the average molar weight of the hydrogel used.
