Abstract

The creep behavior of solid-solution alloys is reviewed. The behavior is discussed with reference to the shape of the creep curve, the stress dependence of the steady-state creep rate, the shape of the transient strain after stress change, the substructural characteristics, the transition in creep mechanisms, and the breakdown of the power-law creep at high stresses.
