Abstract
Pyrazolone and its derivatives are an important class of heterocyclic compounds that are found in many drugs. They represent an interesting model for combinatorial and medicinal chemistry due to their simple preparation and their therapeutic and biological properties. Research on medicinal chemistry has drug-like pyrazolone candidates with various medicinal properties, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antitumor activities, etc. Here, we summarize strategies to synthesize 3-amino-1-substituted-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-ones and show that this class of compounds can be used as a kay intermediate for the discovery of new drugs and can be readily prepared owing to recent advances in synthetic medicinal chemistry.
