Abstract
In a multicenter double-blind study we investigated maintenance therapy with three different dosage regimens of flupenthixol decanoate within one year 62 schizophrenic patients were included after screening 1129 hospitalized patients. 24 % of the patients experienced a relapse during the study-period. There were no dose-dependent group differences in the number of psychotic episodes. In a post-hoc analysis we compared patients with and without relapses with respect to anamnestic, sociodemographical and psychopathological data. Again, there were no significant group differences in these comparisons. Neither a single variable nov a distinct pattern of variables could predict the occurrence of a relapse.
