Abstract
In this work we investigate the quantization of two-dimensional dilaton gravity in the semi-classical framework treating the metric field classically but the dilaton quantum mechanically. We study the renormalization of the one-loop effective action and obtain a modification of the classical action. The equations of motion ensuing from the modified action are solved and the properties of the solutions are analyzed.
