Abstract

A preliminary study was carried out to test for the presence of residues of persistent pesticides in the fish fauna of Nubia lake, and the results are presented with tables. Residues of organochlorine insecticides were found at very low concentrations in most of the common species, and it is suggested that they originate from areas of intensive insecticide application in the Gezira, and along the White Nile in Central Sudan.
