Abstract

A simulation study is presented for vinyl chloride catalytic reactor, taking into account the unsteady-state regime induced by the catalyst bed deactivation. A pseudo-homogeneous, quasi-steady-state plug-few mathematical model and previously published kinetic data were used. Space and time evolutions of temperature, acetylene conversion and catalyst activity have been computed for different operating conditions.
