Abstract
The effects of short term aging on the structural and optical properties of thermal evaporated nickel-tetraphenylporphine films were studied. It has positive effects: the amorphous state becomes more ordered, and crystallite size and optical gaps increase. Other optical constants were calculated: single-oscillator energy, E-o, dispersion energy, E-d, infinite wavelength dielectric constant, e(infinity), lattice dielectric constant, e(L), and the ratio of the carrier concentration to the effective mass, N/m*. Also, the effects of short term aging on the real, e(1), and imaginary, e(2), parts of the dielectric constant, e, and the loss tangent, tan delta, were studied.
