Abstract
Five multiple intravenous injections of GnRH (50 μg every 2 h) to non-pregnant female-camels resulted in a significant increase in the peripheral plasma concentration of luteinizing hormone (LH) compared with saline-treated animals. Gonadotrophin releasing hormone (GnRH) treatment also resulted in oestrus and the formation of a short-lived corpus luteum (indicated by rectal palpation and progesterone secretion). The level of oestrogen was not affected by GnRH or saline injection during the treatment period.
