Abstract
This paper demonstrates a calculation of shielding properties in a (100-x) TeO2–xMoO3 glasses where x = 20, 30, 45 and 50 mol %. Focus on the shielding parameters: mass attenuation coefficients (μ/ρ), effective atomic numbers (Zeff), half value layers (HVL) and exposure buildup factor (EBF) values have been computed using WinXCom program with the use of G-P fitting method. Also, variation of the shielding parameters is compared with other tellurite glasses.

•Calculations of shielding parameters of (100-x) TeO2–x MoO3 glasses.•Half value layers (HVL) of binary (100-x) TeO2–x MoO3 glass makes it useful glass.•We found binary molybdenum tellurite glass with 20 mol% MoO3 a superior shielding.
