Abstract
This study investigates the significant concerns that prevent faculty members (FMs) from providing additional efforts of Online Pro Bono Volunteering (OPV). The influences of gender, age and academic achievement (degree/experience/specialty) were tested with the Willingness to provide OPV (WOPV) and the Extent of providing OPV (EOPV). Twenty-three concerns were tested to explore their impact, nine of which were deleted after the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). The other significant fourteen concerns were grouped in four categories depending on EFA to losses, interest, followers and proficiency. This study presents two main contributions: first, a new instrument to measure the concern factors of OPV, second, a proposed model to support practitioners, developers and researchers who are interested in OPV. Future researchers can extend the applicability of this model to other areas of research and they can present comparable studies that consider various nationalities, cultures, religions or occupations.
