Abstract
•Magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of La1-xBaxCoO3 was investigated for level of doping x = 0.3 and 0.5.•It is shown that the Ba doping allows MCE in La1-xBaxCoO3 to be tunable.•The range of temperatures, that MCE of La1-xBaxCoO3 can be functioned, is nearly between 90 and 220 K.•MC properties of La0.7Ba0.3CoO3 sample is larger than some MC ones of many MC materials.
The magnetocaloric effect-(MCE) of La1-xBaxCoO3 near the magnetic phase transition was simulated at levels of doping x = 0.3 and 0.5. It is shown that Ba doping allows MCE in La1-xBaxCoO3 to be adjusted, which gives La1-xBaxCoO3 more significant for construction magnetic refrigeration. The range of temperatures that the simulated MCE of La1-xBaxCoO3 can function is nearly between 90 and 220 K. The simulated MCE of La0.7Ba0.3CoO3 has more impact than the MCE of La0.5Ba0.5CoO3. Furthermore, the simulated results demonstrate that the MC properties of the La0.7Ba0.3CoO3 sample are considerably larger than some of the MC ones of many MC materials in published works.
