Abstract
Simulation programs are developed for the investigation of telephone traffic in single-cell mobile radio systems in which there are both land-to-mobile and mobile-to-mobile calls and in which mobile-to-mobile calls go via the base station. The top- down structured programming approach was used for the development of the programs. The resulting programs are of modular construction and can be used for various system con figurations. Two simulation methods are used. In the first, the rules of time-true simulation are applied, while in the second the rules of roulette simulation are considered. A comparison of the two simulations is given from several viewpoints including ease of programming, insight provided, execution time, and ease of coping with modifications of the model under investigation.
