Abstract
Street dust has been sampled within the Riyadh metropolitan area (Saudi Arabia) and analyzed for Cd, Ag, V, Cr, Pb, Cu and Zn. The concentration of each metal has been determined by ICP/MS at μg/l solution concentrations. A nitric acid digestion procedure and standard addition method, were employed for extraction and analysis. Recovery of added elements was 94–105%. The results are discussed in relation to the sources of the metals and possible health hazards.
