Abstract
The solubility of a paraffin wax with m.p. 43 °C in various base oils was experimentally investigated. A general empirical correlation for the prediction of paraffin wax solubility in various base oils was developed using the solvent molecular weight and the solubility temperature values. The results were compared with experimental data. The correlation was found to reproduce the experimental data with an average absolute deviation of 9.0% and a maximum absolute deviation of 19.7%.
